| Hi everyone beezer owner here. I'm running the 100PD engine and I've picked up on some of your comments on MPG. Considering that I'm running the same engine? I don't think I'm getting anything like your figures. Majority of my travel is a round trip of 50 miles a day. My fuel light/buzzer comes on at the 7ltr remaining point and the tank has given me 400 miles. So I'm thinking another 65 miles perhaps. This tank is 45 litres/10 gallons, surely with the figures you guys are advertising I should be getting alot more to the tank. By the way my car has done 30k and I suppose I'm driving at 80mph most of the time. Should I get dealer to interigate VAG.COM? |

| On the 100PD engine I get around 50mpg average around town. Out on the motorway 60+ is possible. I wouldn't be worried unless it consistantly gets into the 30's or low 40's.

| My dad gets about 55-60 MPG out of his Polo TDI Sport 100 (motorway driving mainly). What I get depends on the driving, but its been as low as 25 MPG and as high as 55 MPG, but usually somewhere in between. |

| Round trip of 50 miles today doing 80+mph, I got an average of 47mpg on the computer. On normal commute I see between 55-60mpg but that does take in a bit more town driving which tends to bring the average up. If you're worried, the dealer can interrogate the ECU or you can get someone with VAG-COM to check the MAF readings, etc. ![]() Chris

| 80+ and you're killing the fuel economy.. you should try driving up the motorway do around 200 miles at 60/65 and report back on you mpg. I've had 72mpg out of my 1.9TDi - typically I am in the 60+ mpg range. If you do a trip like I say, fill yer tank up, get your tyre pressures sorted (34 psi all around), and see what you get at the end of it. Anywhere between 60-70 mpg should be a normal and good figure. If it is, there's nothing to worry about, your car's fine. Regards, |
