| Hi all, Well I left my small rural village on the outskirts of Cheltenham at about 6 o'clock this morning for the three hour journey to Jabba in Peterborough. The TomTom reckoned on about 2 hours 55 minutes by motorway or 3 and a quarter using the direct route. I took the latter option as I thought it had more chance of keeping me awake I almost wished I hadn't though because when I was driving through Chipping Norton, I was behind a van (thank christ!) in a 30 limit going up a hill and right at the top was a wretched mobile speed camera unit!!! Seriously, have they NOTHING better to do at 6:30 on a Friday morning in the pitch dark?? Anyway I got the hammer down a bit and had a fun (if long) drive up to Jabba and arrived by about 8:20!!! I popped back down the road and gave some hard earned cash to the local McDonalds in return for a breakfast! Once I'd filled in the name and address, I settled down to a couple of hours of rallying on the XBOX and a chocomilk from the drinks machine Luke quickly fitted Green panel filter (I'd already done the PD 160 intake) and off went the car behind closed doors whch I never expected, and onto the rollers!I also didn't realise how noisy rolling roads actually are! The whole building was rattling!! After a couple more cups of chocomilk I was told that my car was ready and that was that. All done.According to my printout sheet, the little Furby was running 141.2bhp and about 241 ish lb/ft of torque. Not that thats important really as the main thig is the difference afterwards!! 182.9bhp and about 294 lb/ft. I know these figures probably should be taken with a small pinch of salt but I'm well pleased! For anyone interested, here is a link to a scan of my dyno chart from today: http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...nitro/DYNO.jpg The main thing is that it feels soooooooo much quicker in all gears now. First is pretty much unuseable at anywhere approaching 70%+ throttle and thats in the dry! I tried what I call my 'kick in the back test' which involves rolling along at tickover in 2nd gear and then just planting the accelerator! This results in big shove and then to my surprise wheelspin!!!!! (and a fit of giggles from me!!)So, all in all I'm well happy (apart from Adrian Flux relieving me of £115 extra for the privelege and thats only for the remaining 10 months of my policy! oh well!If anyone is even considering getting a remap be it custom or generic I really do think that you could do a hell of a lot worse than Jabba......... 10 / 10 Thanks for reading and not falling asleep! Joe

| Good Read mate Glad you're happy too with a remap. I opted for the chipboost remap as he came to my house, But as you say a massive kick in the back when the throttle is planted just before 2k revs. In the wet, the first 3 gears are useless also when giving it some beans, this is hardly the case though as you have to be an idiot to totally rag your car when its wet. I Don't know about you but i'm definately after some 312mm brakes as the standard ones struggle to cope with the power!!! ![]()

| That torque figure is impressive, just about 400 Nm of torque! Need to persuade my Missus to get her Fab vRS mapped. |

.I do fear that it may be the start of a very slippery and expensive modifying slope though!!! Joe

| I live in Chipping Norton - watch out for the mobile speed traps, they move around a lot too.

| I wonder if the prevalence of scameras has anything to do with the fact that a certain Mr Clarkson lives there?

| In short: bad plan - you basically are uninsured. Also, this particular vehicle is well-known for being remapped by the insurance companies, which makes it more dodgy still. If you have mods that are not declared, the insurance could decide not to pay out (at all), which would be a bad thing. The insurance premium hike may not be all that bad, mine was but I do loads of miles + international + have loads of mods. I would get some quotes, see if you can find an affordable insurance for a remapped car with your circumstances in mind, and hopefully you'll find a decent quote ![]()

| Even those of us with fairly excessive modding do it - Jason I reckon still tops that one for the Fabia range, considering he started off with a PD100 originally ![]() Bengie probably does it for the Octy 4x4 crowd, and no doubt there are several others I am hopefully not insulting by not mentioning them. Bet they are insured though

| Yup, indeed. Which is why I'm so glad to be with LV still under their rules etup quite some time ago, now not given to new customers, but quite happily kept in place for their long term customer. This will be my 5th year with them I believe in December.

| Talk to Chris Knott....you should get a BRISKODA discount....I insured my IHI-ed Octavia via them....roughly £750 fully protected £350 excess. If you want to mod then notify your insurance company....it's the only sensible option.
