My vRS 3000 mile post

So the vRS has reached 3000 miles now, and i still love the car - but have a few minor niggles:

- Vibrating/rattley rear passenger side speaker (farts when music is bassy)
- Crinkled rear seats (dealer is useless tbh)
- Rattle behind dash and rattle coming somewhere from the passenger side door...

Also, my oil seems to be on around half (normal?) without topping any up since 0 miles.

And my coolant seems to be on the minimum mark on the bottle, looks abit like this:

------------MAXIMUM---------

------(water level)-----------
------------MINIMUM---------

Should i be topping this up? If so, what with? Or should the dealer do this? Keep in mind my dealer is quite useless and over 30 miles away...so i try to do anything i can by myself, by myself!

Thanks for your help guys. I still love the car, and those niggles really are little niggles - i got back from a weeks holiday today and realised i missed it so much i had to just take her out on the open road for a 10minute spin that turned into over an hours worth of "spirited" driving! What a smile i had on my face

Re: My vRS 3000 mile post

Rightio, i noticed the thread that says which oils to use...is there any especially recommended ones? And are any of those available at a typical Halfrauds store or should i be ordering from somewhere online, etc?

What about the coolant? Thats what im more worried about to be honest as the oil has been on about half since i first checked it at 100miles!

The space between min and max coolant isn't very great, so just this once you can use plain water. If it keeps losing fluid, take it to a dealer. Fluid loss warning is indicated by an ear-splitting alarm beep.

Nope just the right spec oil, which it has to be

May not be the easiest oil to get hold of but at the same time, all VAG dealerships should have some in stock.

Re: My vRS 3000 mile post

Would probalby keep an eye on coolant and not refill it - reason being sometimes the minimum mark is also the 'cold' mark - (unless its on 'min' when the car is up to temperature).

If you fill it to the Maximum when it's cold, you might find it spits out the excess (there is a valve that allows it to do this).

Re: My vRS 3000 mile post

Thanks for your help guys, im going to leave the coolant for now and check on it every so often, and ill pop down to a Halfrauds to see if i can grab some of the oil mentioned on here.

Any ideas about the passenger door vibrations by the way? They are pretty intermittant (typical...) but quite loud and annoying. Definately sounds more vibrations that creaks...
