| ... capable of superb economy. This was taken after I arrived back at Exeter. ![]() 71.4 Done at 70mph cruise control for most of the journey![]() 215 miles done ![]() Range apparently left on my tank... ![]() ... despite having done 200+ on it already. ![]() Oh yeah. Got fastest time on 1/4 mile of 15.268 Not bad considering the start basically involved lighting up 2nd gear. Traction? What traction? 0-60 of 6.88 on the same run. Damn Chris (Ellis - We went in tandem down the 1/4) beat me by 0.03 of a second as well. ![]()

| It was, but what actual effect it's having I'm not sure. Was fairly clean on most runs I did.

| I saw you on the sprint strip and am sure you would've got a much better time if you hadn't been sat there with the wheels spinning! Was the same for a lot of people, except the Scirroco that was doing 0-60 in the high 2's!

| Ok so from looking at the fuel guage you have done 221.2 miles with 1/4 of a tank of fuel (lets assume it goes down linear). So given you drive the rest of the tank like that then you could get 890miles from the tank & as the fuel goes down it getting lighter so will use even less fuel. This is clearly a message to those of you who state you never really get over 45mpg your driving your TDI incorrectly. For the poster what a result - It would be good if you brimmed it now and calculated your true MPG so we can have a measure of the accuracy of the trip computer. |

No. I am infallible. I am the worlds greatest driver and there can be no way that I am driving my TDI incorrectly. I recently found this stuck to the back of my car however which would explain a few things; ![]() | |

| Im not so sure - 71.4 is incredible perhaps it was achieved by driving the TDI on the torque wave not changing up at 4000rpm to get peak power ? ![]() Red line chasing for that marginally quicker time will get you to your destination in hardly any noticably quicker time use more fuel stress more parts risk other road users more etc. Cruise control set to 70mph is fantastic. |

| You'd have got more if you'd driven yourself mate - I used to find my cruise dropped my mpg. Not bad results from a PD100 though

Also bear in mind that this is with propane injection too, which will increase diesel economy, but possibly not save on cost per mile....Chris

| So lets get this straight. You've carried out all this works over the years to help your mpg. Bit extreme isnt it ![]()
