Smile Oil Service display on dash

Hello everyone

Last night the display on my 2000 (X) fabia 1.9tdi popped up with OIL SERVICE when I turned it on. The last oil service was done 8000miles ago in October.

Is it safe to leave until October again or do I really need to change the oil?

And if it is safe to leave how do I stop the display saying OIL SERVICE every time I turn the engine on?

Many thanks

Chris

Personally l'd leave it till either the 12 months is up or the mileage interval.

The Renault "Change Oil" message seems to come up anywhere around 2 months or 2k miles before you actually need to change it...............which isn't annoying at all

Thanks for that.

Do you know how to reset the computer so it doesn't come up with the warning everytime. I've searched the forum and everyone says it's in the handbook; but I can't find it
