Default Potential owner, help please, pic requests too :)

Hi there, im a potential new owner so a few questions and picture requests if you please

Im looking at an 04/05 plate VRS I plan to modify it, I'll mention that straight away .

Now i have been looking on the internet and i'd like it chipped to 180bhp, the only mods i plan is a PD160 intake and a different backbox - 180bhp should be achievable?

^ whats the score with the clutch, will it handle it? to be honest i only do spirited driving when on the motoways and thats not too often

What is a 180bhp like to drive, overtaking and specifically cruising along NOT booting it? does anyone have any stats?

I plan to add some lowering springs, but not lower too much and some better brake pads any ideas?

Lastly i was looking at some front lips, side skirts and a rear valance ,all quite subtle - do anyone have any pics with them fitted they could kindly share?.

Also i dont know what colour to choose, but im thinking silver which black wheels and silver lip around them, anyone do that to there VRS?

Thank you in advance.

Have a gander at the search button.
Loads of threads.
Not too bad for overtaking etc, as the engine has a lot of torque.

You will want to chnge the cluthc if your after 180bhp.

Dont just get a back box, get a whole system, catback orturbo back, up to you.

Suspension wise. Best not to just get lowering springs. Koni dampers are really good, even the cheaper fixed rate ones. A whole Koni suspension kit would cost £450ish.

Get a good mapper to do the remapping (jabba / awsome). Someone who isnt going to give you a big spike of power and blow your turbo.
Good map would set you back £400-£500.

PD160 intake and Greencotton is a good start for breating.

Race Blue is the best colour imo.

O, and crusing with a remapped Fabia should give you more MPG...Till you want to overtake. Then the mpg goes down a bit faster!!

180 bhp is un-relalistic, these 'so' called tuners are a waste of time.

Get a safe Jabba map to 165bhp and save some money in the long time as it wont screw your clutch or turbo.

As long as you treat it good, keep away from peak torque and allow turbo to warm up before booting it and allowing it to run down before you turn it off

Open a can of worms why dont you :p

I've running an Angel Tuned Fabia which is remapped to '170/180bhp' apparently. Not had it rollered and dont care, its fast and thats that. Clutch is fine too, and its been mapped for about 30,000miles. (And i drive my car very hard, and the turbo is still working *touch wood*)

PD160 Air intake, and some other mods.

Motorway it laps up the miles, 6th is a very nice cruising gear, and it will still pull if you boot it.

Personally its more of a quick overtaking car, short gear range meaning more gear shifting for optimal progess, but boot it in most gears and the car just goes.

Black isn't a good idea if you do alot of motorway miles, i used to do a 95mile round trip to work, all M5/M4, couldn't keep it clean.

Silver with Black Alloys is nice, but im a black lover. Nothing is as clean as a clean black car :-)

I was talking about the ebay tuners etc who offer this miracle service of 190 bhp for £200 etc, etc.

I witnessed an Angel tuning Fabia with the generic remap blow it's turbo last month

But it can happen to even standard ones

Race Blue is the best colour though

Mine isn't remapped and to be honest I have/ I am thinking about it...

BUT as standard Fabia vRS is ridiculous for overtaking anyway - so much grunt in the gears it's amusing. Only once you get to silly speeds does the power tail off.

I had a 306GTI6 before, the vRS is daft in gear compared to the Peugeot, much less hard work, all low down and not at 7500rpm. hehe
