Looking at the current flow diagram the two fuses are in postion 3 (50amp) on the top of the battery and position 7 in the fuse box.

That attacment is the current flow diagram as used by the dealers.

As Ross has said, according to that diagram there is a fuse in the battery cover and one inside the car.

Pretty clear I thought which is which. maybe french would be better?

Regardant l'organigramme courant les deux fusibles sont dans le postion 3 sur le dessus de la batterie et placez 7 dans la boîte de fusible.

Hi,

Lumomx - thanks for the fuse diagram - Very useful

Well I thoroughly checked the fuse on the battery and it is ok - I also checked the fusebox and they are ok

However I think I have got to the bottom of this - The third brake light is not working - The light high up -

Do you think this is the problem ? And if so is it the light switch or the bulb or both

If the regular brakes lights are working and the high level isnt it can only be a fault in the brake light itself of a very small part of he loom that splits off from the main loom at the back.

It wont have anything to do with the PAS fault.

On second thoughts - This still doesnt exaplin why the power steering pump wasnt picked up in a VAG com test by the dealer - The dealer could nt communicate with it at all.

Oh well - Lifes a bummer

If there is power at the pump and the data bus communication is ok on the PAS system then the only option is a faulty pump.

Because the manuals are written for LHD and not allways the gospel truth, just a guide.

Ok,

Spoke with my garage - Watford to order a replacement pump and sensor-

Baically the guy there said hs had never heard of a pump going on one of these skodas - He suggested I bring the car in and get it reset ...

But when we hooked up VAG com to the car - It turned out to be that no fault codes were recorded - That is there were two code which were returned - but when cleared did not show up even a week later.

I guess I ll try one last go at having the fault codes checked. and possible reset but SHoudl I be holding my breath?
