| I got my fabia 1.4 16v from a dealer despite everyone's advice. there was an engine management problem which was supposed to be sorted out before i bought the car, but it had to be taken in after i picked it up. they gave me a corsa to drive around in the meantime (bloody awful) anyway, turns out that the problem is a faulty power steering pump and this needs to be replaced. the bloke says it's going to be about £500 quid. is this a complete rip off? how much do they acually cost with labour. thanks |

| Surely this is covered by the warranty that the dealer provided on the car, especially if it was a fault known at the time of sale!? Chris

| Yeah, you shouldn't have to pay anything surely ??? What dealer was it... I take it that because you got a corsa, it isn't a Skoda dealer ? |

| no. it's a second hand dealer. they just happened to have this skoda in. would have liked to buy one brand new, but don't have the cash. after owning it for a couple of weeks and coming on this forum, it appears to have every single problem that is possible including the spower steering, lights and faulty ignition... maybe i made a bad move, but i knew i wanted to stay with skoda. i'll see how it pans out. and thanks for your comments by the way. i have since had some very heated discussions and the dealer has admitted that they are liable for the costs. cheers carl |
