Default Running 205/50 on a vRS?

Just wondering if anyones had any experience running 205/50/16's on a Fabia vRS?

Been thinking on how you can improve the ride over rough roads without changing the springs/dampers.

So assuming same make of tyre is used

205/45 16 gives a rolling diameter 591mm
205/40 17 gives a rolling diameter 596mm 0.85% increase
215/40 17 gives a rolling diameter 604mm 2.2% increase
205/50 16 gives a rolling diameter 611mm 3.38% increase

Now I assume members use 215/40 17's to help improve the ride so thinking a profile change to 50 on the 16's could be an idea.

Any comments? Not planning on doing anything yet as all 4 tyres have plenty of tread left. Could get a cheap set of 205/55 16's inc alloy (bigger profile again ) of ebay and see what they are like.

They'd be just fine.

Not sure the improvement in ride comfort would even be noticeable though tbh. Just get some FSDs and be done with it!

I reckon you can get away with 205/50 R16s

I toyed with this idea myself about a year after I got the Furby and its tyres were getting a bit bald. IIRC, the overall increase in circumference is only about 3.5% over the 45s, so the speedo ought to be more-or-less spot on in fact, given it seems to under-read by about 3 to 5%, depending who you ask...
