| You'd need to give us the year of registration and any options if fitted.

| That is one of the really early ones. Anywhere between £6k - £7k private sale as they are currently in demand (Probably closer to £6k). Trade in you will be lucky to see £5.5k. Amusingly it's done less miles than my 55 plate ![]() |

| My local dealer has 10 second hand Fabia vRS's, all 04, 05 and 06 ranging from 7995 to 11,695! should be some good deals for cash. |

| I think it was around £12380 for a basic car and solid paint.

| I'd place a 'Trader ad for 6.5k - see what happens. This seems to compare favourably with what's on there currently, nationwide, having just taken a look. Especially as that mileage is fairly attractive for the year. Steve

| Im looking forward to more & more getting below £6k on Trader now. It way only the beginning of this year that there was only the odd one every now & then under £7k now there are a good 6 currently and 2 under £6k This great new buy is going to be a fantastic 2nd hand buy for a relatively new car & I suspect in 3 years time even the oldest highest milage ones will still command £2k. So £4k depreciation for 3 years motoring is a mere £111pcm. still in isolation £111pcm depreciation is not an insignificant amount. |

| Why an earth would you be looking forward to more getting below 6k?? Surely the higher the used price the better it is for the owner.

This poster is looking to buy & is saving up at £1kpcm clearly with every day that goes by the vRS (like any other car) is depreciating. I mean also is it really worth paying £2k more for a car with 30k fewer miles? I dont think so IMHO especially when £2k is 1/3 of the £6k purchase price its a lot more.

| Surely a buyer then becomes an owner and all his glee at the prices falling is now brought to bear on himself.

Its like buying a house where you really make the gains are the actual price you pay for it, not the DIY. If you buy for the right price its easy to flip making quick ££

| But that all depends on sourcing the right property for the right price which is normally going to be lower than the appreciative market value and hence you making a bit.

| With cars its buying the cheapest - or the best possible deal (make the seller wince) maybe if your lucky and they are desperate to sell you could have 1 years free motoring i.e. you could sell it in a year and the market value is the same as what you have paid for it. |

| You are completely contradicting yourself now. As I said, you can't have your cake and eat it. If want pi$$ poor resdiuals then fine but remember they'll be pi$$ poor when you come to sell too. If you get lucky and find a bargain then ideal.
