| Sat Nav/UV reflective windscreen? Hi everyone, here is a simple one for you (I hope). Just took possession of a silver '06 Fabia vRS this past weekend and am loving it (though would prefer some better weather to enjoy her in) and couldn't be happier. I'm considering buying a Sat Nav device (Yes, I'm rubbish at directions) and was wondering about the Fabia windscreen. Reviews tell me if it has a "UV reflective windscreen" then I'll need an additional antenna, but I've no clue whether this car has one or not. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. |

| Re: Sat Nav/UV reflective windscreen? Fabia vRS doesn't have a UV reflective windscreen. Your sat nav will be fine as it is ![]()

| Briskodian | Re: Sat Nav/UV reflective windscreen? RAC200 fine in mine, but having read about thieves seeing mounts on windscreens and breaking in to look for the sat-nav, I found that only the windscreen is smooth enough to take the suction mount. Have now fixed the holder to the glove compartment. Hardly visible to outside. This works well and can be seen by driver and passenger, does not obstruct view and easy to glance at. Have run an extension lighter cord from opening behind handbrake along inside tunnel and up into glove compartment. Again unobtrusive and this means only need to pull small lead out of sat-nav to remove and, in use only a short section of lead appears from the glovebox and goes into the sat-nav. All wires then out of sight and don't catch. Only regret is I didn't get one earlier. It's brilliant. |

And no, the Fabia doesn't have one. I have a very old-skool sat nav on my PDA, and have jerry-rigged the cradle so that it clips into the vent - no round marks on the windscreen, plus the sat nav screen's much closr to me!
