Should the bonnet catch be greased?

Picked up my new vRS on friday and i've noticed the bonnet catch/latch its greased.... every car i've ever had has been greased... so has someone just forgot or is it some strange VAG thing that they don't grease them??

Cheers.

Re: Should the bonnet catch be greased?

Mine went a bit skanky after a while, so I greased it myself. Seems fine now.

Re: Should the bonnet catch be greased?

IIRC its one of the checks during an annual inspection/service and will be greased up if required

Re: Should the bonnet catch be greased?

I've just put a light coat of grease on it, closes easier now.
