Default unleaded vs super unleaded

went to sainsburys shopping today and noticed that their super unleaded is only 2p a litre more than the normal stuff so i filled up with it.
It definately makes a difference.
I'm just taking it for granted that the car will suffer no ill effects running on higher octane than necisary

but it would if it needed super and i filled it up with normal

I have been using BP Ultimate in My Fabia for around 5 months now, and I must reccomend it. It has had a positive effect on the car for sure. The car wont suffer any ill effects, but It may not benefit from higher octanue fuels. The ECU adapts to the fuel, so if it is mixed it shouldnt be a problem

Ya i use that too.. the octane 98 one.. its amazing.. it s bit more expensive but u notice a better performance and fuel consumption.. the 16V takes up to octane 99.. and btw.. i just noticed that it will only make a difference if u have a 1.4 16V fabia.. for 1.2, 1.4 8v, and 2.0 it will not make a difference in performance or fuel consumption if u use the a fuel with octane higher than 95
