Default Vredestein Sportrac 3 tyres

I'm needing 4 new tyres for my beloved Fabia vRS & whilst at Bruntingthorpe yesterday the Vredestein marketing people were gushing with praise for their own tyres (quel surprise).
The thing that got my attention though was the Auto Express test, where Vredestein Sportrac 3 tyres came out on top.
Does anyone have any experience of these?
I was going to get 4 more Toyo's,but theye came out of the Auto Express test particularly badly.Maybe things have moved on in tyres in the last couple of years.

I bought Sportracs on the strength of an Auto express test. As a result I will never trust a word they say again.

They were lethal in all conditions apart from bone dry. Bloody dangerous rubber.

ive just put a set of uniroyal rain sports on my vrs, first impressions are very good.

they are quiet and smooth, grip in the wet is awesome and dry grip is just as good as the t1-r and at 45 quid a corner very cheap too

a big for the uniroyal rainsports

Another happy Uniroyal rainsport user. Wear and grip are awesome.

Had them on Fab Vrs and Octy Sport 2.0.

Not sure about the Sporttrac's but have the Hytracs on our Fabia and they are an Excellent tyre... extremely stable with good wet and dry grip.

Price is always a factor of course, but I'd consider the following next time I come to change, in no particular order:
  • Toyo T1-R
  • Goodyear F1 GSD-3 (the XL load baring variety)
  • Uniroyal Rainsport1
  • Kumho Ecsta KU-31

steves got it right there, the thing that rules out the goodyears for me is the price, i am impressed with the uniroyals but will probably try the kumho's next as i have heard some good reports and they are as cheap as chips.

Agree with you about the Goodyears and price. It was only that on my Ibiza, the previous owner had fitted them all round. I didn't have a problem with that

I found them an excellent all-rounder and they wore well too, which surprised me a little, as I expect to pay in that department, for decent grip. No sidewall problems either, that some report. I'm not particularly easy on tyres and they stood up well.

If I have a choice over the next purchase (i.e. don't buy another set of wheels with tyres already fitted!) I'll likely go with whichever is the best deal out of the Toyo/Uniroyal/Kumho choices above. I think they all have good things to offer

I was also quite taken with the Vredstein tyres, they certainly kept that Golf out of trouble all day.

yes they are 205/45 r16 but i only get them at this price a special favour from a supplier from work. even at £56 retail these are still cheap tyres and worth every penny.

i had some more wet action with mine last night and i can safely say thats these beasts live up to their name rainsport.
