| Hi guys, Sorry if this is a dumb question, I've tried searching on here already but can't find a straight answer. I understand there are two different engines that were used in the Fabia vRS, was wondering how to tell which I've got in mine (it's an 05 plate, if that helps), is it also true that the bhp figure of 130 was underestimated by Skoda ?, if so whats the true figure likely to actually be. Cheers Alan |

| You will have the ASZ engine, No engine stutter ![]() On the newer BLT engines they seem to have more power, a few have rr at 145-150 bhp. But taking into account no rr is accurate i'd say it safe to say most older ASZ's will be not far off the 130 ps as stated by Skoda ![]()

| The stutter isn't too bad tbh but if you dont want it look for an ASZ engine coded fabia, the early 53/04's had the older longer 6th gear. Some 04's like mine got the never revised shorter 6th gear. Think the ASZ ran to 55 plate / 06 but im unsure.. im sure a search would reveal all however

Look at your V5 log book, tells you on there (engine number) Will start with either ASZ or BLT, ASZ being the old and BLT the newer
