Default Windscreen Wiper issues

Yesterday i got in my car (00 1.4mpi), as i left i jetted the front window and the wipers swiped 3 times as usual, then nothing more. Neither the jets nor the front wipers do anything on any stalk command, though the rear wiper still works on swipe, not jetting. But strangely the rear wiper swipes once when the stalk is pulled as to jet the front windscreen, confusing. I hope i got the situation across clearly.

So this morning i checked the fuses for the Front Wipers, Rear Wipers and Washer system, all working fine. So im thinking that the problem is a switch within the stalk or elsewhere, does this seem to be a correct assumption?

Sods law isnt it, today its siling it down unlike yesterday, so i cant get home to get a multimeter or take it too a garage to get it checked. *Hopes for a dry weekend*

hi there mate have you checked the 10 amp mini fuse in position 15 as this sorted it for me as the normal wiper system fuses were fine also the cold weather is a biggy on this front if not take it straight to the dealer mate good luck

Thats the only one i didnt check, i used the fuse layout from VRS Stu's website as the fuse layout in my manual has no diagram, couldnt see any numbers on the actual fuse panel either, or was that me being blind? From comparing Stu's layout (the numbers being the same in the manual) there was no 10A fuse in this position, it was a 5A which confused me. Ill try have a better look this afternoon if it stops raining.

Sorted! I swapped the fuse in position 15 which was a 5A (even though in the manual and Stu's guide it says its a 10A fuse) and all is well now, i can drive again! Cheers for the tip.

Slightly off topic....

Has anyone tried the flat wipers yet?
1. Are they any good?
2. Is this a good price?

Thanks...

Hmm confused now, could have sworn your 1st post said they were crap....

Oah well .... glad to hear they worked out for you, might be getting some soon, also one for the back if they do it.

My wipers are on their last legs.
