| Sorry to be a pain folks, but this has me stumped and getting angry now… My earlier post explains the history so far, so I won’t go over it again…except to say that turning the ignition key results in nothing…. I’ve attached a picture of the 1.9D cube’s starter motor… POST A is where two large red cables are attached…one from the battery and one that seems to go to the alternator…. Post B is the link from the solenoid through to the starter body…. Terminal C has a plug with a yellow wire coming from god knows where… So…. With the motor in the van I have a permanent live at post A, but not at B….even with the key turned…. With the motor out of the van and a battery used directly…neg to motor body and battery live to post A…nothing happens…. If I put the battery live to post B I get a solenoid action and a fast spinning shaft So…is the solenoid **&**erd? |

| It did !!!!! All sorted....local scrappy had a very nice rear-ended felicia..... SM £15...and all working nicely again... best part...he's stripped all the door locks and ign barrel out (for another £15!!!) so I can replace my assorted key-lock combinations and have them all work off the same key... Oh, and a very nice pair of seats for the van... lost a day's work but all's well now... many thanks for all the suggestions on the original post. cobweb |
