| Just wondering... My battery light stayed on until you accelerate gently so I took it for a drop test and they said my alternator wasn't charging... So took it to the garage man who has had the alternator reconditioned or cleaned and I had a new volt metre put on... The light still stays on till I accelerate, is this normal or is it a sign that the work wasn't done properly and something else is wrong? I'm inclined to take it for another drop test to see whether the battery is being charged! Laura |

| It is usually down to the voltage regulator They are not that expensive and it is usually down to overcharging Radio is another fault that comes with it and a nasty smell This is down to the battery bubbling Get it checked out as I have known batteries to blow and acid then got in to the ECU Sarah |

| ![]() just a voltage regulator problem...... probably just a case of having a re-con alternator fitted

| Thanks all. Now it is just being inconsistent, sometimes goes out immediately sometimes doesn't. So far no nasty smells so I'll keep my fingers crossed for now! thanks again for the advice. |
