Default Bumper ding removal

Last summer my wife clipped the bottom of the front bumper on a rock. It's a face lift Felicia (body coloured bumpers), the small grill fell out and the bumper has a dent. She's driven it since, MOT etc no probs but it's about time it got repaired. Any hints for DIY ding removal? Looks like some kind of thermoplastic?

it's abs plastic, if you have a look in some of the car accessory shops you can get those 'plastic weld' kits which are quite good

Cheers Tom. Just to be clear, is this filler as in the old Isopon days or some clever plastic sucking magic I've not heard of?

there are a few different types, but the best ones are where yo get two tubes, and once mixed it goes off like concrete.... be very carefull tho because it's messy stuff....

also if you have a hot air gun you may be able to heat the area and bash out the dent with a rubber mallet, but some of the paint may flake off if you do this...

alternatvely you may find a bumper the same colour down the scrappies which would save a lot of fiddling about

Thanks again Tom. The hot air treatment will be my first resort.

good luck.... a hair dryer isn't hot enough.... you need one of those proper hot air guns... they cost a few quid from B&Q.

dont use a steel hammer otherwise you may stretch the plastic when it's hot..
