Changing Spark Plugs (Felicia 1.3 GLi)

This is going to seem a daft question how does one change the spark plugs on a Felicia 1.3 GLi Estate (MPI Engine)?

To be more specific as I am not 'mechanically minded' there is instead of the usual individual HT leads leading to to each spark plug a metal 'bridge' across the spark plugs.

Logically speaking I would have thought this would be easy to remove by simply pulling away from the plugs; however this seems easier said than done.

The 'bridge' seems well and truly fixed to the tops of the plugs.
Can a bit of pressure be exerted to remove this part from the plugs?

Any solutions?

Many thanks

You have to unbolt it first, usually two 5mm allen key bolts.

The metal 'bridge' is the ignition transformer commonly known as a coil pack
as Lummox said, bolted on, the allen bolts are on the bottom face under the two domed lumps.

Re: Changing Spark Plugs (Felicia 1.3 GLi)

Many Thanks Bobbob & Lummox,

I had great fun trying to remove one of the bolts as the head of one of them was badly chewed up.

After spending a good couple of hours trying to free it I decided it was time to call in a mechanic.

Thankfully he managed to free the stubborn bolt and the plugs are now changed.

Once again thanks for your help.

A couple of tips for the next time you hit an issue like that:-
1) PlusGas dismantling lubricant - accept no substitutes. It might get a part-chewed head to move decently.
2) A Gatorgrip socket. Only use this for dismantling though!
