Felicia 1.3LXiPlus on an N plate - well rusted, 97k - and I've just got the gearbox out (off) and the clutch plate is totally destroyed, the thrust bearing is good, the fly wheel is good, bit of wear on the tensioner - but.........it's a battered old thing, and I expect the rust to get it before anything else, so do we save a few quid or just get a full kit and thrust bearing in? - Odd thing is, I love this car (will be for my wife - I run a Xantia estate). The last thing I want to do is put it all together again, and find out a few miles down the road it's gonna need something? For the sake of a few quid is it worth not? Arghh the dilema! Any suggestions very much appreciated ![]()

Agree with Tom My Clutch went in Feb. the release plate was gone. Served well though was at 101k Got the whole clutch and cable replaced. Make sure you get a proper Skoda/VAG clutch cable too. I had a local sourced one and the pedal was really hard to press. And the cable failed at 104k miles. Replaced with an OEM part (from the same place i bought the other one from) and the cars now a joy to drive again.

Totally agree; it's false economy to not do the lot. Just think how much work is involved in dropping the box.

I totally agree, it is false economy, and I don't think I'm quite ready for all the fun and enjoyment involved in stripping it down again any time in the near future. Still, it's helped to convince the better half anyway After all, the little green machine is for her!
