Default gearbox

well think i need a new 1
driving my pickup 1.9d home last night bad noise in 5th gears then no 5th gear jumps out now so left it in 4th at 50mph for most of way home
the noise it the high pitch wine think thars the retaining nut come lose but think its a new gear box time

Sounds like a great new project to strip it down, repair it, play with the gear ratios and put it back in again - and if you get there before I get my parts for my clutch, let me know how to take the Audi grey thing off the selector rod, I need to replace the rubber thingy

Afraid it does indeed look/sound like the retaining nut problem strikes again.

Yeah it will be. Take the end plate off, and replace the nut that holds the shaft in.
