Hi All, I'm looking to sell my P Reg Skoda Felicia but not too sure what its worth. The car runs fine but the clutch has gone and the alternator is on its way out too. I'm basically looking to sell it but just don't know how much I should look to get. Thanks. ![]()

In full working order a 1.3 / 1.6 petrol is only worth around £300 (private), 1.9 diesel about £500, so take off the price of a clutch and alternator and its a case of what anyone would give you for it (not much though) Not what you wanted to hear I'm afraid.

Try hard and you might get £150-200 for it as scrap metal. Another option is strip your current car of good bits and buy another felicia then you have a supply of spare parts, and weigh it in for scrap. Yet another option is to try change the clutch and alternator yourself, but the parts alone will set you back at least £100. The alternator is dead easy to swap, but the clutch will probably be quite a job to get done.

This is another of these "condition" arguments. It will cost about what the car's worth to change the bits cited, but if the rest is in decent nick that might be all you need to spend other than consumables for several years.

I've taken this approach with my current car. Was given it for free anyway and have also been kindly given a variety of spare parts (a few of which have actually come in useful). So when it came to needing a steering rack £100 and £25 for tracking, I thought it would be a good idea. Unfortunately after that I realised the brake master cylinder was leaking so I guess the fact I had spent £100 already and combined with the car costing nothing to start with decided to take the plunge for a new brake servo £60 and master cylinder £40. So that's over £200, but who's to say I'd have been any better off scrapping the car and getting another? (Know the previous owner of the car and that it was religiously serviced and kept in good condition).

The car is dark blue, 1.3 MPI Engine. As far as I know the car is fine other than clutch and alternator. Put it through an MOT last month. Has a dent on LHS Rear door.

| I think this has been adequately answered. Now closed as it has effectively degenerated into a For Sale thread.
