| Because a 1.8T or maybe VR6 would be better?

| i was thinking about a really cheap solution to be mass produced, i have done a bit of research into this and it is not as difficult to do as some might think

| go on then, what you come up with? does it involve lead lining the boot to counter balance the anvil in the front? |

| The 2.0 MK4 Golf engine (same as the Octy lump) is a shocking piece of turd IMHO. Worst engine bar far they ever stuck in a MK4 (crime to badge it a GTi ffs). The 100bhp 1.6 is alot better in my view. For what ever reason, manifolding maybe, emissions gubbings even, they are slow, thirsty and ultimately not very reliable. Not to mention the piston rings are crap and they drink thier own oil to the point it gums everything up and engine ecu starts leaning the mixture off to compensate for the oil ingress. Bah, hate them.

| so do i..... but they are cheap however paid £99 for the last one i bought off ebay..i know they aren't the best choice out there but at least it will be a good reliable 115bhp in standard form, which no doubt till be a lot more reliable than a modified 1.6

2) why would you? a 1.3 will weigh about a trillionth of the the weight and easily give 100brake reliably, or the same 115 a little less reliably... 3) everything will be dearer, all the replacement parts and upgrades and serviceables... | |

| why not try and electric motor instead with some lithium battery cells - much much lighter, no fuel needed, but will empty your wallet just as quick might save you long term, think, cheaper tax, no fuel bills, and you could be the first to make a high performance electric Skoda, go into mass production, I'm sure we'll all buy one from the forum money permitting! |
