| Depends if you want whats in your vehicle to be covered or not! The other benefit of a pickup is you could put something quite tall in it - your not that limited by height! |

| Pinkskud, yes, it was a Favorit I was looking at on the bay, but spoke to vendor, and it is deffo just a mobile skip, so will pass on that one. Interestingly advertised that it comes with VW engine. Anyway, I suspect a Felicia or equivalent Caddy is still the route to go. A Cube van would be good too, and just ditch the canopy off the rear, et Voila, Pickup. |

Id say go for the felicia pickup if you want A work horse but if you want something retro and a bit different buy a forman.

Now theres a great answer, thanks . I do want retro, but also reliable and quirky springs to mind. If I could find a decent Hyundai pickup (1200 rwd) or a Subaru Brat 1800 awd or even a decent Ford P100) I would love it. I just come from a culture where pickup trucks are used as a car, and it almost becomes a status symbol, in the UK , clearly it is an "anti-status symbol" but I dont care, just want to be a "redneck" with my own truck.

| South Africa the first 39 years of my life, and the last 5 in the UK, down Kent way. If you asked many a SA lad right now, whether they wanted a new car or a pickup or double cab 4x4 the vote would favour the pickup. In SA a pickup is classed as much as a car and does not incur much of a penalty. I am visiting in November for 3 weeks and my brother has offered me his Opel Corsa Pickup (with colour matched canopy)to use for a 4000kmplus roadtrip, and he does not even have to inform the insurance company, as long as he gave me permission to use it, it is fine, and if I am fully liscensed. St range world I know. |

| .................. Yep, its a "BAKKIE" which lost in translation means small bowl. My second car ever wa a 1600 Ford P100 (Cortina of 1982 vintage with fibreglass canopy) In SA, you will see a builder (White van man type scenario) withhis whole team of up to 12 guys on the back of a 1ton pickup truck racing down the motorway on the way to an from work daily. ....... | I'll be honest and say that i think the Favorit Pickup rides better than the Felicia Pickup (i've had both), the Favorit seems to rot more so finding a good 1 these days will be very hard, i'm guessing its that Blue Favorit Pickup you've been enquiring about on Ebay. I may know where there's a few Felicia Pickups and Cube vans available (cheaply), going to make enquiries tomorrow if i can.
