Default Newbie!!timing belt/chain?

Just bought a felicia estate 1998 diesel and it has 69000 on the clock. I know this will seam like a stupid question but i don't have any idea. Does it have a timing belt or chain? and should it be done around now (if it's a belt).
Cheers
also can you give me some genral pointers on what to watch out for/or to do!!
thanks

Belt.

4 Yrs or 60k.

Glow plugs...water onto the fuse box....not much more for running really.

There are a few problems to watch for on shockers but not much more....

A great car otherwise!

Chain, if you feel unsure with it change it, if not, leave it, they all rattle to some extent!!
