| Right, just fitted new rear shocks to the pickup, however the rod that slides up and down is uncovered. Is this a problem? and if so do I need to purchase something to cover it? |

| In theory the rod could get dirt on it and drag it down past the seal. Personally I wouldnt worry about ti to much, just occasionally raise the suspension up and give them a wipe off. I took them off originally as they bottomed out on the guard and the wheels rubbed on them.

| I fitted new shock on the rear of my octavia without replacing the covers and they lasted 12 mths. Just fitted 2 new on my pickup and going to get some covers and new bumpstops, I will post the parts numbers when I do. |

| If you fit the bumpstops even trimmed down (then the cover wont fit) you wont be able to get the drop that you have at the moment. Your choice of course.

| Thanks Ross. Might look at getting some covers. As for the bumpstops the new ones didnt have them, and looking at the movment in them I dont think it needs them. Also got the make up pieces shortened on the back so it sits a little more evenly. |

| Both things I would have done if I had kept it longer to be honest. The rear spacers were a first effort and the mesurements were always going to be a bit of trial and error, though i found as a base they were good enough.

| Would have though bump stops would have beed a separate buy anyway. None came with my shocks. You should be able to get bellows to cover them anyway. Bump stops won't help much, as they sit on the mounting end of the rod, not the cylinder end. Fancy bringing it down for a weekend? Phil

| The bellows or guard attatch to the bottom of the bumpstop, hence them not being there.

| Fair point....................they sat over the top of the bump stop on the set I did, so a bit different. Any idea what diameter they are (rod and cylinder). I am sure there will be something suitable somewhere! Phil
