| Hello My Felicia 1.6 is smelling of petrol (inside and out). Guess it's not good, and that there might be a leak somewhere. Anything it's likely to be (so can point garage in right direction). Should I just take to garage or is it a bit more complicated? |

| Check for perished rubber and check around the hose clips in the engine bay for signs of leaking (but do not disturb the clips as the fuel system is pressurised). Remember the leak may only occur with the engine running. |

| first thing i would check is the crankcase breather pipe, there is an elbow at the top which connects to the air box duct which often splits, it is right next to the fresh air intake as well which allows horrible oily/fuely smells into the cabin

| If you're looking for leaks around hose clips, there may well be a "clean bit" around the relevant clip, since petrol is a good solvent for most forms of "engine dirt". |
