| I have a 97 1.3mpi felicia I posted a thread about a month ago. Tryed the suggestion posted no better. Took the car to skoda trained mech who had it for four hours. Every possable check done took parts off a running and swapped no better. He stopped then and his suggestion was that it might be the crankwheel timing mark moving ie the flywheel cracked. Luckly he did`t charge me and did`nt go any further because his time to check this would cost more then the car worth. Any suggestions welcome |

| I would check the inlet manifold for air leaks, especially the gasket. Spray WD40 or carb cleaner round it while the engine is idling which will find any leak and temporarily make it run better by sealing the leak.

I agree with this, but to be honest WD40 doesnt always show this fault up. Mine didn't but after spending peanuts on two gaskets it made the world of difference. This is a totally swear free satisfying job as well. Just set aside a couple of hours as it isn't hard. The original gaskets fitted to the Felicia are not substaintial enough and have been notably upgraded as it is a know problem. ![]()

| Make sure you check the condition of the springs that connect the tip off the plucgs into the coil pack. |

| Blocked no. 4 fuel injector, the one at the end of the fuel rail. There is a fine mesh filter on top, I have seen these blocked in the past causing a mis-fire. Remove the injector and wash/blow the filter out. |
