Writing a buyers gude for the Felicia?

I'm thinking I may knock together a buying guide (with pictures!) for the felicia so that prospective buyers have something to use as a checklist when viewing..

is this a good idea?

Re: Writing a buyers gude for the Felicia?

i think it's worth it, especeially as they seem to go for peanuts now on ebay. a felicia is an ideal first car for a learner and it's certainly worth knowing what to look for

If you're familiar with all the common faults then I'd go for it. Very important to include the common failure of the MacPherson strut top and bottom spring mountings due to corrosion.

Yep, go for it. If you need any pointers, do ask!

As said, there are plenty of good ones still out there, but plenty of dogs too.

Don't pay more than £500 and don't buy one with a sunroof unless you drive with your hood up.

I've never had that failure, but read about it a few times on here, so it'll be added

Fine, but £800 three years ago isn't £500 now.

Are you sure? The car is a one owner from new, 40000 miles 1.6GLXi with FSH. It had the sunroof replaced under warranty because it leaked. Unfortunately the replacement also leaked, not surprising really as the sunroof itself is cheap tat. Anyway I refitted and sealed the thing (and the windscreen leak) with silicone - dry head, no worries

Don't get me wrong, they're decent enough cars, and a lot better than the old Favorit I once had. It's just that I tend to buy old cars and run them 'till they die and you can get a better class of shed above 500 quid!

Re: Writing a buyers gude for the Felicia?

I'd look forward to a guide. A felicia could be the ideal replacement if my favorit bites the dust at the next MOT.
