Default Discount offer to Briskoda members

Hello all,

As an introductory offer we would like to give a 15% discount to all Briskoda members on our new VAG diesel software upgrades.
This includes all Skoda models from Fabia through to the new Octavia 2.0tdi. All these tuning packages are carried out through the obd port in order to maintain the vehicles reliability. Please see our website www.forgemotorsport.co.uk for the full vehicle listings.

This offer is open on all ECU software upgrades for Briskoda members up till a closing date of 29th April 2005.

Bookings or enquiries must be made via email to tuning@forgemotorsport.co.uk Please do not call our general sales telephone numbers. If you do then you may be on hold a little while as the tuning and development department is in a different building to general sales. The upgrades can only take place at our premises in Gloucester. UK.

It would be beneficial to the customer if they can find out their ECU part number and advise us of this before travelling to us. This is just in case we do not have the specific vehicle covered with our current range.

Note that we are open from Mon to Fri only and cannot take weekend bookings at this time.

There may be up to a 2 hour waiting time for completion as we do like to carry out pre and post checks on the vehicle to be tuned. Note this does not include dyno time. It is more visual and electrical diagnostic and road test based. We will not load any software if a vehicle is shown to have any existing problems that may hinder the performance or reliability.

Please also remember that our usual 10% discount offer on all other Forge manufactured products still applies to forum members.

Hi there!

Can this be classed as a re-map or is it more of a chip???

What kind of power output can we expect and how much for a Fabia vRS??

many thanks

As it's via OBD it's a remap.

Looking at the webiste brochure it lists the following -

Fabia

1.4PD 75bhp £375 +25 bhp
1.9PD 100bhp £400 +30 bhp
1.9PD 130bhp £400 +35 bhp

Octavia

1.9TDI 90bhp £375 +28 bhp
1.9TDI 110bhp £375 +25 bhp
1.9PD 100bhp £400 +30 bhp
1.9PD 130bhp £400 +35 bhp
1.9TDI 105bhp £500 +35 bhp
2.0TDI 140bhp £500 +35 bhp

Superb

1.9PD 100bhp £400 +30 bhp
1.9PD 130bhp £400 +35 bhp
2.0TDI 136bhp £500 +35 bhp

Prices do not include discount.

Remap as nearly all of our ECU upgrades are OBD programmed. Tiptronic gearboxes are still a re-chip to compliment ECU remap.

VRs 130 will gain 30-35bhp over stock. We quote it this way instead of a fixed figure as each car is ultimately different in performance. I know the stock map is identical for a similar car but the outputs are always slightly different.
We tune with reliability in mind in such a way to protect the standard hardware. Clutch life is particularly a problem on VAG diesels so we tune very sensibly at the bottom end. Tuned torque on a 130pd will peak around the 280ftlb mark but we purposely tune the 2k to 2.5k revs to prolong the clutch life as much as possible.

I personally would like to see a map that maintains the stock torque but carries it flat from 1500 rpm - 4000 rpm ?!?! Is this possible !?!?

If it were possible to do this on any engine then it would be that way from Stock. It is just a characteristic of diesel engines that means torque peak is low down the rev range and then tails off significantly. Diesels are not built to rev high and therfore suffer a relatively short power band.
I will dig out an example of a 130pd power graph from an otherwise stock car

I didn't realise they'd introduced a 2.0 TDI on the Superb! Interesting.

I have a very pretty graph of a 184hp 330d BMW that has a torque band that looks like as i decribed rises up to top 200lb/ft and stays there through the rev range ! Perfect for drivability ! Shame the PD cannot do that !!?!?

That sounds good, I may be interested in this as reliability is important to me. However, if I did decide to do this, I might not be able to get the money in time for 29th April.... after this would you do the 10% discount?

Cheers

Mappings are done in house. We used to offer other software but no longer do so.
If you book before the 29th then we may be able to keep the offer open. I will have to ask the big bossman tomorrow.
Graphs will be posted later tonight or tomorrow. Sorry but I got a little side tracked this afternoon.

Richard.

Sorry, I wasn't being funny. I thought they'd introduced the engine and I'd missed the news.

I was in a Skoda dealer last week and did actually asked about this but they said the Superb is staying as the 1.9pd. New Passat has 136bhp 2.0tdi already so no doubt this will come in the Superb very soon I hope. Once these engines have done around 8k they are very smooth compared to the 1.9 8v PD. The tuned versions are even better. My wife has a tuned Kid carrier (Touran) which is now more fun for me to drive when I have to
I found the graphs from our 130pd developments. These were actually a SEAT Ibiza 130 but it is the same ECU as the Fabia VRs so can be used as an example.

Forgot to say, this is a graph from Stealth Racing's dyno. We did not use air intake temp correction fugures for the dyno software. Instead we used fixed figures of 18-22. Stealth use this on all diesels now in order to get an accurate figure. If the actual intake temps were recorded and entered then the dyno software would over correct and give you a high power and torque figure.

Looks good, I like the way it holds the torque even high in the rev range...

I know this thread has been resting for a while, however i wanted to point out a recent finding with Josh's car:

Josh's RR graph

As you can clearly see he has a flat torque curve ?!?!
