Just had my car dyno'd and am disappointed 173.5 hp/ 286Nm @ the wheels, was expecting more as it has 205hp ipro map done a few months back.

Most UK tuners/rolling roads quote in calculated flywheel HP, yours are wheel HP figures so will be less.

Surely there is a loss of approx 15% between the flywheel and wheels, so this should be somewhere near the performance to be expected?
Or am I wrong again?

thats wheel figures not fly figures, 25bhp loss seems fine to me

If it's any consolation, I did some engine work on my Harley Davidson a couple of years ago. In stock 883cc form, HD quote 50 BHP.

Rebored to 1200cc, high-compression gas-flowed heads, high-lift long-duration cams, race ignition module and coils, 40mm flat-slide racing carb, K&N filter & open airbox, straight-through increased-bore exhaust system.

Before and after are like chalk and cheese, but it only dynoed at 61bhp

Have just found out from the old tinternet that you divide wheel figure by 0.85 to calculate flywheel figure, so all seems ok..DOH! Happy now

I was very dissapointed in Xav's RR printout initially, then I looked at the curve and torque.

Nice to have a good curve (!!!) and mondo torque.....
BHP is for for bragging rights, the thrill is in the tq. (feel free to disagree...)

it doesn't always work out like that, infact more bhp still doesn't mean a faster vehicle
