group 10 -air system, maf readings and throttle position and group 7 - temperatures for intake, coolant etc. i usually log all 3 blocks, so i can see in a not so scientific way when the engine is on full boost and full throttle.

| Colin has answered most questions here for us so not much for me to add. It lloks like we can go to 50mm depth with same surface area, we will also test a 60mm but this may start to effect flow through to the cooling components behind the IC? Ideally the next fit and performance test will be on dyno to see the difference between the 3 core depths. Hopefully get this complete in the next 2 weeks. I also thought the mounts were a bit obvious. They will be a bit shorter on the production ones. Also just an aside. The welding on Colins FMIC is a bit OTT. We altered this one several times so quite a bit of it was welded and then cut back off. It had four different end tank designs in 2 days so please dont be too fussy on this one when you see it on Saturday at Bruntingthorpe. Actually the particular guy at Forge who welded this one is called Colin and he too owns a Skoda.......spooky? |

| It's a prototype and for a prototype / test model it looks VERY clean. I think most of us would be pretty impressed with that rapid turnaround time you guys mentioned anyway ![]() Very interested to see what those different depths will do though, I must admit. Still not sure if I can ever afford to get this, but fun nevertheless

| Tests proved no benefit of going to 50mm deep core so it will stay at 40mm. We do still have a little bit of pipework rectification to do and then the whole kit will be fully available for order. Colins car is due back with us for a day very soon for this last bit of work. We are also getting enquiries now for the 100pd kit. This will be different due to the standard pipes having a different coupling fitment. Full details and test figures will be released when kit is fully available. Thanks. |

the kit is *almost* ready now.. a few changes were made to the pipework: so now theres NO cutting of the bumper AT ALL (previously had to cut a little section out of the inside of the bumper - wasnt visible to the outside anyway) also the MAP sensor was moved slighty, as on the development system, oil was collecting in the map sensor and weeping out the seals.. and the pipework is no-longer in the way of the towing eye (not that ill ever need it lol) I think it looks like the pipe-run flows better too

| Out of interest, what happens to the original SMIC - is it kept in place so the car could be reverted back to 'standard' if necessary?

| Cheers - I've already got such a box in my loft for the original air intake, hehe ![]() Suppose a bigger box will be needed, especially if I also end up replacing the exhaust ![]()
