Skoda Dealer Moan

Wasn't sure where to post this so settled on here, anyway here goes!

Popped into local dealer a couple of weeks ago wanting some A,B,C trim pillar clips (OEM alloy retaining, nothing sofisticated) and tbh I may as well have been speaking to somebody from a Rover dealer in China...........anyway, we agreed on what i needed............

Been working away and popped in yesterday to collect.....here goes...

Dealer CSA behind the desk was already dealing with another customer and filling her full of absolute rubbish about what her car neeeded etc etc, anyway, no issues and I waited....she eventually finished..........but continued to type away on her oh so lovely keyboard and staired lovingly into her LCD screen..........

Now, at this point I, as a customer am being completely ignored, ok, so I ask, 'excuse me, but would it be posssible for you to contact the parts dept as I am only here to collect something' very politely I ask at this stage.

She replies, 'he's out to lunch and won't be back until 2'

I say, 'well it's now gone 2 so could you try'?

She looks at watch, mutters something under her breath and say's ' I don't have his mobile and he's off site'

I say, 'sorry, but how do you know, it's gone 2 and you say he's back at 2, so can you try his internal land line'?

Again she say's 'I don't have his number'....................

Now at this point I'm trying ever so quickly to work out whether or not I'm speaking a completely foreign language or she's just beinng difficult, as I oh so inconveniently interrupted her after she dealt with the dear old Doris before............

So, I ask again, 'can you please try his internal land line number'?

She picked up the phone, now we have action.......................No answer!

Guess what? She carcastically held the phone to one side as to say, 'there, told you so you a**e'!

Now, if there is one thing in my not so senior years that really winds me up, is CSA's with attitude! They obviously have no idea, concept or understanding of buisness! At the end of the day, the customer pays the wages, if you have no customers, regardless of industry, you have no business, therefore no income!

Now, this partuicular dealer (imho) is operated by dinasours, with little, or if any understanding of how business operates, if I were the MD I would be afraid, very afraid............

My car will never grace their service bay, ever, not even for warranty...............it does not take much in this competative world........

Post the above under the relevant dealer in the review section.

It will soon disappear as a normal thread.

Re: Skoda Dealer Moan

I have just come away from my local dealer. I have been waiting for over 2 months to have a warranty repair carried out to the memory module on my electric seat adjuster. When I tried to complain about the lack of a phone call on three occasions after being promised "They would call me when X happens" . I was cut off in mid-sentence by being told that If I didn't like it I could always go to the place I bought it from. When I replied" A simple phone call would help" I was told, "If you don't like it "Use a different dealer".

Have I made a grave mistake in my choice of car?

Re: Skoda Dealer Moan

Im going to name and shame a dealer.

TRANS CITY SKODA london

I got my car from there in Jan. When i looked round the car myself and the salesman agreed it needed new brakes which would be fitted before i picked it up. When i picked the car up the brakes had not been changed and the sales person that i was dealing with was off. They then called him at home and he said he did not agree to that. I said the brakes were not legal and i did want the car. One of the sale person then drove the car down to a local MOT station to get the brakes checked. The MOT station said there where legal but one just. They gave me abit of money off and i was on my way. Shortly after a loud rubbing noise started from the front. I took it back to them and they said theres nothing wrong with it.

I left it for 4 months thinking it was fine before i took it to PRESTON MOTORS for a glow pug warning light the came up.
They where great a PRESTON MOTORS. They turned the light off and replaced the brake light switch which was the poblem. They then pointed out that i had the front driver side wheel bearing hanging off! They said to be in this state it must have been sold to me like it.

I WILL NEVER BE USING TRANS CITY SKODA AGAIN!!

But will be going back to Preston Motors again as they where very helpful and only waited 3 days for my wheel baring to be done.

I'm going to write a letter to the dealer GM first, this is not the first time this particular CSA has behaved in this way, she needs training big style!..........I only use this dealer for small value parts, my car goes to another for service and warranty..........

Re: Skoda Dealer Moan

The experience I have had from dealer has been a positive one. They are friendly, and help out at short notice. I have never been charged to have fault code scans, even some minor work I needed has been done free of charge. The workforce has been the same for some years, so they know for the most part what they are doing. They usually let me have small value parts free of charge, and it keeps the customer happy.

Em, why would you go to sales or service reception when you wanted the parts counter anyway? (unless the receptionist doubles up as parts reception)

Simple, because there is no parts desk, just one desk that doubles up as reception and parts...........In order to speak to parts you have to ask a member of staff behind the desk, they will then usually contact via internal phone system............There you go!
