Default So what is it worth?

My trusty Fabia is soon to go up for sale or part ex. It will have around 120,000 miles on it, is running to perfection and is in pretty clean condition. Oil consumption is same as it ever was and it starts first time every time. Got 6CD changer, heated seats and cruise control.

Trouble is, I have absolutely no idea how much to put it up for sale at. If a dealer offers me, I have no clue.

What do we reckon a fair valuation to be?

Chris

Blimey, £52 / week depreciation. That is better than expected. Car will most likely go up for sale in the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Which year/plate is it again Chris?

The healthy spec will attract people and it's not as if it's stupid mileage. I'd go with Tom, and expect it to move reasonably quickly at that *touch wood*. It's a cheap way into vRS ownership after all.

If P/X, it depends on the overall deal I suppose...

How can you do a glasses valuation without knowing the year of the car?

From memory I think it's only about 3 years old?

There are a number of valuation site links in the sticky thread at the top of the "Cars for Sale" section....

Car is 55 plate. Looks to be a range from £3600 to 4600 as a part ex. Bodes well. Looks like early September to sell, but may be earlier if Mini will do a deal for an August reg.

Chris
From what my local dealer said they may well do a good deal if you take a new plate as they don't think they will sell as many as they want to. Not sure how true that is.

Everyone wants to buy the latest plate, so August is typically quiet. Most would prefer to wait for the September 58 plate. This of course means a tight month for the dealers. Against this, the new plate will be worth more come sale time, so the discount has to more than cover it. Need to decide final spec, then it is time to start the haggling process in earnest.
