Now the details:

MILOTEC manufacture lifts with full fitting kits and easy to follow instructions specifically designed for the Octavia II

NO DRILLING required - and minimal DIY ability as the kit is fitted to the fixing points already in the engine bay/bonnet.
Just need 10mm and 13mm spanners and about 5-10 mins

FULL FITTING INSTRUCTIONS here http://www.milotec.de/pdf/octaviaII/62405.pdf

These kits cost £88 EACH from MILOTEC's UK dealer RSD Cars (Road and Sport Developments)

Group buy deal - includes all taxes/duty and shipping to the UK
£46.00 each (40+ units)

These prices are to the nearest pound and may change slightly as they are converted from EUROs - but shouldn't be more than a +/- £1.00 difference.

Obviously if we get more orders we may be able to drop the price even further

The kit weigh 0.78 KG per unit. P&P costs to send these kits out once they reach the UK are therefore:
£2.30 SECOND CLASS Royal Mail
£2.92 FIRST CLASS Royal Mail
£4.88 AIRMAIL
the postage will be AT COST - so whatever the stamp says - alternatively FREE to collect or swap at meet

Quote:
FINAL UPDATE - 15th JUNE:

Due to only NINE (9) orders the price has slipped slightly:

Shipped to the UK the units cost 72.42 EUR - as of this morning that is £48.93
PLUS onward UK postage means:

UK orders: £51.23 TOTAL to your door
EURO (Ireland orders): £53.81 TOTAL to your door

In case the EURO strengthens I would like to suggest adding 1% (50p) and I will send back change or refund if no movement or if the EURO weakens. Thanks

What is with the mounting mechanism to the octy?

Does fitting require any fitting of parts or drilling of holes?

Sorry to be a pain, did you price get those prices from RSD? Or Milotec themselves?

As Milotec only sells them for 75 euros exc delivery.

Cheers

Neither (well the £88 is from RSD) - the prices include shipping to the UK from Mainland Europe, but are from an independent.

Milotec Germany refused to sell to me and referred me to the UK distributor (RSD!)

To be honest the prices for anything less than 40 units is too high for my liking (and as you point out, not necessarily competitive) - but I posted them anyway for information.

Perhaps I should just aim to sign up at least 40 people and only run the GB once that level of interest is reached?

First post edited to HIGHLIGHT 40+ deal

I know...Personally I think 40 is pretty steep, but I've been looking around and don't think it will get much cheaper.

So put my name down for one! (as long as we get the required 40+ people)

Thanks to my FIRST* official supporter (*no additional discount just for being first, mind )

Obviously until we get a consensus (ie everyone is happy with price vs how many of us there are) I wont be ordering any.

BUT ... there are hundreds of Octy owners here - if we signed up just the vRS lot that would be about 130+ - an order like that would shock the supplier (it would probably be worth COLLECTING in a van from europe for that many PLUS you could do the whole "Booze cruise" thing aswell

I'd be interested assuming we can get the 40 unit price otherwise it's a bit steep.

3) Jonno VRs

UPDATE: - I am still receiving some more quotes back from other dealers, if they better the above prices then obviously they will supercede those already advised, also if minimum order is smaller it will supercede above.

I already have it (retail price in Russia is about 50 GBP) and want to make two comments.
First. With this part, bonnet opening lower, than with factory stack. It is not a big problem, but think about it
Second. They recommend to paint a part, that forced a bonnet. I did it, see below my pic. It is not very difficult, you dont need to find exact color like your car, but looks better

As per instructions (see pdf file in first post) - it is recommended for "aesthetics" that the metal mounting rail is painted body colour:

If you have a silver car - NO EXTRA WORK!!

Have you tried superskoda.com - WORLD OF SKODA TUNING There was a thread a few days ago saying someone had got something from there a lot cheaper than the UK price, and I notice they have recently added these lifters. Might be worth seeing what sort of deal they will offer?

Yep - one of the companies I have approached.
Still waiting for all the offers to come back - if the price or order size is improved I will update thread.

Thanks for the lead though - any more gladly received.

Whats the cut off time for the GB? I'm here this month, and away next month!

As if its not sorted by the time I'm back....might just go out and buy one anyway

Get me one while you're there

At this rate we will only have a handful of respondents by the middle of June (I want the GB sorted by month end with orders in, payment sent and hopefully lifters despatched)

If we only have 5-10 orders the dealer said we can have them for about 81 EUR each including delivery (exact value depends how many people we actually divide the shipping costs between) - which is about £56.

Still worth doing if the alternative is RDS's £88 !!

Go forth and drum up interest.
