Talking Eight Step Plan

For those of you contemplating that all important purchase for your prized set of wheels or a trip away with the lads but worried that SWMBO will pull in the reins then here is my 8 step plan satisfy your cravings and ultimate marital happiness

1. Go ahead and make the purchase whatever it may be, Koni FSD's & Eibach's, new TV, trip away etc. etc.
2. Keep it quiet for as long as possible (this keeps ear ache down to a minimum)
3. As and when the new purchase is about to be delivered or you are about to go on that trip with the lads, start dropping subtle hints.
4. SWMBO finds out about said purchase/up coming trip
5. All hell breaks loose (be prepared for a rocky ride for up to a week)
6. SWMBO calms down (but has still not forgiven you so tread carefully)
7. After around two weeks everything is back to normal.
8. Start planning the next purchase/trip

Job done

This will never work, if you buy something say you won it / was given it.

For a trip away say its a work trip.

Honesty is not always the best policy.

I concur. My 'Step Plan' consists of:

1. Buy stuff
2. Goto 1

Or when she is not about, get it fitted and when she comments on it, go 'but it's always been like this darling'.

You also forgot step nine

9. After repeating these handy hints a few times, sell car to pay for the divorce

It really NEEDS to be a sticky - just missing the contact details of a marriage counsellor and a divorce lawyer......

I use the line of it being an ebay bargain.

She doesn't normally notice until whatever it is has be fitted/happened anyway.

Just distort the price a little. Tell her a price, half of what you paid for it. It just worked for me

Another little variation on the theme -

Tell her it cost twice as much as you paid, then when the credit card statement comes in say "Jeez, look at that, Fred said he'd do me a bit of a discount, now I/we can afford to [insert next expenditure here]. Sound chap that Fred, I must let his firm do the [insert next expenditure here]".

Warning : this will only work if she never meets Fred.

need to make it into a 9 point plan, buttering her up doing little things for her also helps to smooth things out.

This isn't much different from the 5 step SWMBO plan

1. Go ahead and make the purchase whatever it may be, Dress, Shoes, Handbag etc. etc.
2. Keep it quiet for as long as possible
3. As and when the new purchase is about to be worn/taken out start dropping subtle hints.
4. SWMBO unveils new trinket, bloke never notices.
5. SWMBO plans the next purchase
