| OK. Its time for the group buy to open now. FOR NEW READERS PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE AVAILABLE AS AND WHEN ORDERS COME IN. DO NOT THINK THIS IS TIME LIMITED. IT'S A PERMANENT OFFER TO BRISKODA FROM NOW ON. All is ready to go, RIGHT NOW. Time for some marketing. There's a video you can click on below (only 4mb so dial-up friendly) It shows the kit attached to my car currently in operation. ![]() ![]() Then there's some pics of it fitted. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I should perhaps explain a little about the brackets, eh? They are made from steel, pretty thin but very tough. The end is double butted for extra strength. It uses a unique design that fits the furby perfectly and doesn't flinch a mm under the weight of the bonnet. It attaches to the car by being bolted by existing bolts. Fitting requires the undoing of three bolts and the insertion of the bracket, with a degree of effort (not that much, even a dainty lady could fit it ) Then two of these bolts go through two pre-drilled holes which align perfectly once the formed bracket is inserted correctly. Inside the kit there will be two new ball stud bolts, and two net nuts. It will also include washers needed to secure each bolt in position, securely and tightly. In order to perform the fitting you will need one 10mm spanner, two 13mm spanners and a M8 spline drive which the 10mm spanner can turn. ![]() There will be a free coat of paint in either matt black (very o.e.m looking but glossy too) or matt silver. What you see in my video/pics is the matt silver finish which looks OK, and will do me for the future. However there is the option of a Skoda vRS (including race blue ) colour coating of your choice for £3, and a coat of lacquer. I would advise however that the insertion of the bracket into position will not be friendly to any coat of paint, but then its hidden anyway, and would only be obvious come its removal again. The price is 45.00 all in. (£4 extra for EU shipping, £10 extra for R.O.W (will have to do customs forms for ROW) It won't be like a traditional group buy where you add names to his thread. Payment can be made in many ways. I suspect the first option will be the preferred option, which is by Paypal to me, and I will pay the company personally. The second option is direct into my bank and I'll pay them directly, or you can send me a cheque/cash in post. Please send any orders in to myself via PM with the following completed, please. Full Name: Briskoda ID: Full Address (for sending the kit): Email Address for comms: Bracket Finish: (mention £3 extra for Skoda vRS colour + lacquer finish if wanted) Payment Method: Right, thats it. If possible, I'd like to keep this thread clear. PM me any questions if possible or get hold of me on MSN in my profile). Its time for the warm Briskoda glow to start. ![]() Important: This Group Buy is not in any way linked to Briskoda and is not affiliated with them in any way, so Briskoda is not legally obliged to fulfill any obligations should this group buy go t1ts up. I personally will be though as I'm the one being the intermediary. Having seen and tested the kit for over a year now, I'm happy to bits with it, and it's strength/quality. As a side note, as has been made aware to me, this group buy is not time limited, nor is it quantity limited. It is to be considered more like a shop, in which this option is always avaliable, and it is to be considered a permanent thing, that these brackets can be made to order for the foreseeable future. Thanks. Any questions, give me a shout on PM.Some pics of it fitted to a black Fabia vRS. ![]() And sitting flush to the wing still. ![]() ![]()

| No worries Pete. The packaging was a pain in the bloody ***! That lifter is awkward! But I figured it would be better for me to package them up with my prior experience of sending awkward things (such as aquapel )But I think I did OK. Let me know anyone who finds the headlight end of their bonnet sits a few mm higher than normal. It's something that's been spotted by one person, and as I never had it, it's something I'm a little curious about. Not that it poses any bonnet opening dangers, it's just an up close aesthetics thing. ![]()

| I think you've done a super job mate! I assume you have to use a degree of force to activate the strut once it is in place? Pete

The bonnet does it for you. Yes, it needs a little kick to get it going. Did you get the instructions ok? It says in there to let it go up and down a few times before shutting it. It just gets things moving OK inside the damper. ![]() Edit: Two more brackets heading out tomorrow. Still not heard from / had payment from five people on the group buy. Please keep me informed if you need to wait a little while to get payment to me. ![]()

| Sure did. Instructions fine. Just wondering as it doesn't want to budge and assumed the weight of the bonnet, coupled with a good push would get it going. I haven't installed it yet. Will do so probably tomorrow. Pete

| I can't even move a lifter with my entire weight on it. I think the bonnet itself does it quite easily as it works more like a lever action, than just using brute force on the end. You should be able to twist the ends around though. Both ends need to be facing the same direction when fitted (pointing toward the offside end of the car)

| Wuhuu - recieved mine yesterday. Was down at 7 this morning trying to install, but didn`t have a M8 Spline. Got to get hold of the M8 Spline today - can`t wait. Thumbs up for Jason for the time and effort he has put into this.

| Glad yours made its way across Europe intact Michael. M8 spline is rare - If you can't get one, try it with a range of torx fittings, as I found 1 torx fitting was not a bad mate to the M8 spline bolt, and I was able to undo it and tighten quite well. I think it was a torx 30, or similar.

| Tried it with Torx, but the bolt was too tight. Got hold of an M8 Spline and the lifter kit has now been installed.

| Just to pass on, fitted mine without difficulty. The bonnet was slightly raised when closed once the strut was fitted. Not by a massive amount, but just slightly, only on the nearside. Removing the small plastic orange clip where the orginal bonnet arm clipped on when not in use sorted the problem. It seemed to be touching the bottom strut mount area. I removed the orange clip, cut away the small holder-bit on the clip which grabs the original bonnet arm with a pair of wire clippers and placed the plastic clip back in place as it also holds the bonnet liner. I suppose if you didn't want to cut your original orange clip you could get an additional black clip from the dealer - they are all over the bonnet liner and hold it in place. Notice in your picture Jason that you have your bonnet liner removed. Removing the liner would also sort the problem no sweat. Great piece of kit! Peter

| I'm a little concerned about the lack of contact from 4 people on the GB. I don't want to name and shame, and will send another PM this evening...

| I fitted mine today and the bonnet was WELL proud in the way it sitted, it looked well out. Took the ORANGE clip off and 100% fine. Id prob say it was 5mm higher which is a hell of a lot with panel gaps etc. But all on and 100% and looks the dogs balls. Right There 100% no differance on the bonnet gap what so ever as you can see from the picture. And then a few others just to show it off. Very Happy Cheers devonutopia And Your hard work has paid off and i wouldnt worry about you not thinking of the orange clip thing. should only cost 10p to replace it with a black clip.
