Default Feeler: Group buy in Aquapel

After spotting a group buy going on TDIclub, I have approached a company in the states (more favourable exchange rate than the canadian dollar at the moment ) about a group buy in Aquapel. I know Andy2407 is the king of Aquapel, but I couldn't resist. This is early days yet, but I'm hoping to ship over a couple of dozen packs as soon as I find a favourable price.

Like the last time Andy did this, I "guess" the price will be less or spot on about £4 a pack. It works damn fine too. As good as Ombrello, but 1/3 the price, maybe cheaper. Please don't take this as a definite group buy, but if you can add your names and quantities desired, please do by copy/pasting as usual. Do it like

NAME ----- QUANTITY ------ QUANTITY SUM (saves me adding up )

As a guide, this stuff does not cover "quite" as well as Ombrello, in that Ombrello comfortably did the screen and two side windows + wingmirrors. This does the windscreen and 1 side window (just) so I found it best to use 2 at the same time, and do each side window once, and the windscreen twice (should last longer in theory)

A marketing link. Works VERY well. Aquapel Glass Treatment

Thanks.

I want some for spares.

Quick bit of legal stuff. Briskoda will not be responsible for this - I will. As a guide price I would estimate, going on $:£ exchange rates and factoring in shipping to me, then me shipping to the UK, we'll be looking at about £4 an aquapel (all in) Bearing in mind ombrello used to be £15-£20, this is still a bargain given how long the stuff lasts and how well it performs.

J,

make sure you have all the details downs.

In the meantime I will change this to a feeler thread until you get info back from the supplier.

Remember to put the disclaimer in when/if this become a fully fledged gb.

Yeah, I've actually decided to do what Andy did and approach a reputable looking supplier in the States, via Ebay. Will get an accurate idea on costs a.s.a.p.

If Andy reads this, Can you let me know how much 2 packets were to post please. Will be fore-armed then.

J - IIRC postage was £1. They don't weigh much, but I put them in a Jiffy bag (3 for a quid) and it wouldn't fit through the standard slot size that they now use for letters, so it was classed as parcel post.
I sold all of mine in pairs, but as its the voulme rather than the weight I don't think it would be any cheaper for single deliveries.
Unfortunately, no-one had told bryand's postman it was a parcel and not a letter, so one of his was damaged. However, I do believe water runs straight off his front door-mat now.
In hindsight, they came in a box from the US with cardboard supports and then lots of polystyrene bits. I should probably have re-used some of this when sending them out. Do be aware that the little plastic wings can get broken off though.

Once this reaches about 30 requested in total, maybe 32, I'll get on with the ordering and paying of the stuff. Assuming the offer made to me is still valid.

Edit: After looking at prices, I believe that the rough cost per Aquapel tube is going to be £4. This will be the maximum anyway I calculate. Due to the royal mail system, it now costs £1 minimum to send packets, and 4 of them might be a smidge over that, possibly £1.27. Therefore I would say provisionally that 2 packets will be £8 posted, and 4 packets will be £15.50 posted, taking advantage of sending 4 in one pack.

To be honest, I'm still a little concerned about import duties, but we'll cross that bridge.

Just wanted to add, keep the offers coming in as I've had a PM saying 12 were leftover from another group buy, so there's a total of 60 spare to my knowledge. Thanks.
