| This is an initialquestion to all you fabia vRS owners who do not have Xenons and would like them. I know of someone who can professionally retro fit these. 1 ) If I get more than 5 people interested, I will get cost and time taken to do the job. 2) If there is more tha 5 who definately want this done I will arrange contact. Please put your name down if interested.

| Surely you want to mention the beam scatter issues and the legal issues surrounding the after market kits. Is this for the OEM system as from the factory or an after market kit?

This has been checked out by a Skoda dealer as well. To put your minds at rest - This information was given to me by a dealer who knows the the person who does this work is an EX Skoda ( Milton Keynes ) employee Price is approx £300 inluding fitting.

The reason I ask as I was sure you had to have headlamps specifically designed for HID's along with Washers and self levelling to be able to obtain type approval for a specific vehicle as that is the way HIDs are legal in the UK. Department for Transport - Aftermarket HID (Xenon) headlamps Specifically this section: "In summary it is not permitted to convert an existing halogen headlamp unit for use with HID bulbs. The entire headlamp unit must be replaced with one designed and approved for use with HID bulbs and it must be installed in accordance with the rules stated above." As such I would be extremely interested in how an after market system can be deemed legal as the company can't have obtained type approval without spending a massive amount for every car they wish to support. If such a kit is available then I would be very interested in it and I know a fabia owner who would be too.

| Please can you all list your names for interest along with your questions, I will then pass your concerns onto the fitter , and based on his responses you can then pull or continue your interest. Thanks

| If anything these kits dont cost anymore than £50ish. Plenty out there, £300 seems well out there. These gold plated? |

| Quote: Yeah, I did a deal with a guy. Got 2 sets delivered for £160. There made by "bosch HID" and are different to Bosch. Had no problems what so ever with them. Fitted myself also. So if anyone wants any advice with fitting then I'll be happy to help. Just when I saw the £300 tag on here I wondered why? Sorry if Ive put anyone off but just trying to save some pennies for someone | |

| The £300 will be a fitted price and will apparently include a way of making these road legal. That would require self levelling, headlight washers and type approved headlights for the vehicle. The £50 kit you have will include nothing but the bulbs and required circuitry. The kit you sourced on ebay is 100% illegal to run in the UK. Not to mention f**king annoying for other drivers as you scatter light everywhere and blind them. On that Kit E11 refers to the country of origin, ISO 9001 is a standard for writing down a process etc and ISO14001 is a standard for manufacturing, recycling and waste management. The link I posted above states the DVLA's position on these

| I believe a Kosher kit for £300 is unrealistic, the Xenon headlamp units are £500 a side from Skoda.... Doubt this will be legal

| I would just like to re itterate that this thread is for registering interest, and I will ask ANY questions you have of the fitter, you then have an opportunity to remove your interest once all questions have been answered. Please do not use this thread to discuss the legalities or whatever of the offer, this is not a legally binding contract to say that anyone interested will have to take it. Thank You

If it's legal then it'll have to come with levellers & washers anyway. Cheers Dave.
