| Finally got my octy vRS this weekend and i love it long time... still cant believe its mine though so the excitement hasnt really hit home yet. Anyway, i want to change the HU for something a little better and a few other things including the alarm system. Am i right in thinking the standard setup consists of a central locking unit which works off the key fob and a cat 2 immobiliser ? i wanted to upgrade this to a cat 1 alarm system but wondered if the Skoda optional one is as good as something like a Toad or Clifford, the thing is i didnt really want to add to the number of fobs i have to use. Not that its a big issue, just me being picky. If the Skoda cat 1 system is a decent unit, does anyone know how much a dealer would charge for the unit plus fitting ? or is it only available as a factory option ? cheers peeps. |

| Nigel, I have done a brief review of my Toad system in the review section. I found the Toad 850T was cheaper and probably better than the Skoda approved Scorpion system and you don’t need extra key fobs. Toad charged me £275 fitted on site with CAT1 certificate. As for the Skoda system my dealer wanted £325 all in. |

| Let me ask you something? Do your car comes factory with Alarm??? or just the key remote to lock and unlock the doors with a red LED on your door???? Every Skoda Octavia come with alarm but they come desactivated. YES your Confort Control Unit has Alarm but is factory turn off. So if you go to your dealer and tell him to turn on/wake up your alarm feature you will have a already alarm that work with your factory key/remote. Also when your dealer activate your alarm feature you will need to add a siren and the sensors you ones (glass brake detector, Radar sensor, etc) If you like this idea, I can give you detail info were to hook up the siren and the sensors to your Confort Control Unit. | SilveRS - So the Toad alarm your running uses the Skoda key to lock/unlock the alarm ?? i like the sound of that as i'm a big fan of Toad, had one of their immobilisers on the 19 for 5 years and never had a fault, bro and dad run toad alarms and have been fault free since fitting. I'll have a dig about in the reveiws section for your info... cheers |

| Turbo_boss - mine only has the skoda key with lock/unlock and the little red flasher next to the door pin. As far as i was aware this was the boggo cat 2 system. |
