| I have just fitted a Kenwood H/U in my Octavia...the CD sound quality is great but the tuner is not so hot. My standard old Skoda stereo picked up radio 1 and Vibe in my area no problem...the new Kenwood cant! A mate of mine with a Golf Mk4 had the same problem...he had to fit a 12V adaptor of some sort because the arial needs to be powered, is this the case with Octavias? mines an S reg. Thanks |

| Yes , an aerial adaptor will fix that.

| http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_p...?partno=PC2694 will do the job for you , or just about any decent car audio shop will sell you one.

| Virtually all VAG models since around 2000 have amplified antennas, the power supply to which is supplied along the antenna coax cable. No power means poor FM performance and virtually no MW/LW reception. A converter from Autoleads will do the job. Also bear in mind that the Original Equipment radio has been designed and matched specifically with the antenna, aftermarket sets are not and as a result may still have impaired reception (not in all cases, I hasten to add) despite fitting the adapter. Hope that helps!!! |

| I have called all the Halfords branches in the area and none have any in stock, I was hopeing to sort that out tonight. I have to pull the head unit back out anyway as I have no permenant 12V at the moment, so I lose my presets each time I switch off the ignition. |

| Skinner... I have a couple spare if you want one for a few quid (got three off Flea bay a while back for me and a couple of mates but only one got used as my aerial was totally knackered due to water ingress, meaning I needed a new aerial, and one of the lads found he already had one... it just wasn't connected! PM me if you want one and I'll try and stick it in the post ASAP.
