| Ever since I've had the Furby, the front door cards have rattled. I got the driver's door sorted by wedging a rubber bumper between the bottom corner of the door card and the actual metalwork for the door. The same worked for the passenger door temporarily. But then the noisse came back, so I decided to have another go. In the process, I managed to snap one of the little green clips, which just served to make matters worse! I tried various bodges over the follwoing months, none of which helped. I thought my pain was finally over when I managed to get some replacement clips from Horners in Manchester, but oh no, the rattle just changed pitch! So in desperation, I've filled the entire space between the door card and the door body with scrunched up newspaper, which so far has proved 100% effective. Which leads me to ask: there's all sorts of bits of foam and rubber in various places inside the body of the door, so Skoda have obviously had a go a the problem - but why did it still rattle? Does anyone else's doors do the same? Most importantly perhaps, is my car about to go horribly wrong now that it's been modded with last week's edition of the Tameside Advertiser? Answers on a postcard please... ![]()

| Try draught excluder foam or brush strips along the periphery of the door trims. Flashing tape or Dynamat can help. J.

| It is just to keep weight & cost down - most of the cars I've had were cheap or relatively old ones, and those ones tend to have a little see-through plastic foil which for all intents and purposes is taped down to the metal. Not exactly vibration free either. I still need to fit some soundkiller pads to the door cards but as my dealer doesn't want to do it and I don't want to risk spanning those clips, I've left it for now. Mine does not rattle as much as you describe though (lucky for me) - that said if I have some tunes going with a lot of bass they do ![]() The foam/rubber may just be to avoid rubbing rather than to prevent vibrations, or it's minimal to stop the worst, hard to say. Some soft foam might be ideal, assuming it is not going to get stuck anywhere nasty ![]()

| I usually remove the door trim and place a few bits of foam in between the card and ancilleries carrier. Just provides a little bit of tension and sound absorbtion.
