| I posted before about a problem with my cd changer - the radio is fine but when the cd player warms up the right hand side speakers crackle, getting worse and worse until they are unlistenable. I am guessing it is some sort of loose connection - any idea how easy it is to get into the cd changer and check the connections - I had a look tonight but couldn't see any obvious way of taking it out. Keep meaning to go to the dealer but keep forgetting - have a trip up the A9 to Inverness on Monday so need the cds as the radio only works about 20% of the way! Any ideas welcome....... |

| Ross, The changer is easy to remove, Look at each end of the carpet cover you should see a couple of screws, remove these from both ends. The side near the wheel arch is a pain. The whole thing inc changer should slide out leaving a bracket on the car. The cable that connects to the car loom is protected by some grey foam, so prise that back and you should see the connector. Try disconnecting and reconnecting. The other end, well remove the headunit and its the small one in the top row of connections.

| If it still does not work, I guess you'll have to resort to the tried and tested Cassette Tape ![]()

| cheers gents - I'll give it a try - well used to wires and audio stuff so shouldn't be too bad. last time I took it into the garage their reaction was "we've tightened some bits up" - funnily enough that didn't cure the problem!!!! Will keep y'all updated....... |

| Are head units covered by warranty? If not, 2 options: Buy a new head unit and changer PM me and I'll send you my old head unit from when I did the above. Swap mine for yours and see if it makes a diffrence, if it does, complain to your dealer and try for a warranty job, if it makes no difference, send mine back and continue fault finding. Jon
