Question Fabia HU replacement - aerial question

Hi everyone,

I've done a search but the posts seem to say the opposite of each other hence my question.

I'm fitting a double din HU, I have everything working on the ISO connectors apart from the radio, I have an adapter so that the aerial lead behind the HU can plug into the new unit.

However there is a blue wire with it which I'm assuming connects to pin 5 block a of the Skoda ISO block - automatic aerial +12v output from the radio. Now some posts say this must be connected but others say that if I do it could fry something on one of the control boxes.

So do I need to connect this to get it all working? If so what do I connect it too?

Cheers in advance.

Don't connect it. You will cook whatever is on the other end of the K Line.

What you might want to do i connect that blue wire to the power in for the aerial booster as you will need to send power to the amplifier in the aerial base.

A search should reveal more.

Cheers for the reply, my K Line is not connected on the wiring loom I have so I'm safe there.

There is a blue cable labeled antenna coming out of the back of my new HU that I will wire up to the blue wire on the aerial adapter & that should provide power to the aerial booster.

Again thanks for the help, hopefully I should have it all working tomorrow dinner time & then its time for pics.

I've got me new HU in & everything seems to be working ok apart from the radio, now I did as I said above & joined the blue aerial cable to the blue one coming off the radio. Is this right or should it be on a 12v supply?

Are there any more wires that you may have missed that have to be connected?

The only ones not wired up are labeled remote, rear gear, amp on, tv out & tv in. Does seem strange. will have to have the unit out again to make sure.
