Default Help with daughters saxo?

Can anyone help me, my daughter as just bought a 1999 saxo, but the head unit is rubbish so I have bought her a new one. But I cant get the citroen radio cassette head unit out.Can anyone help me? I have taken the 2 small oblong plastics covers off the sides, but what do I do now?

You will probably need the release pins.Halfords sell them.They slide in the slots on the edges of the unit.Sometimes you can use a coathanger or a small flat screwdriver.

somtimes you can take the glovebox out then you can see the back of the head unit so you can then just give it a huge push.

I just got a screwdriver each side and angled it upwards/downwards and pulled. Soon came out.

Having had a citroen, it came pre-wired without a radio so i could install one of my choice

The speaker wire was of very poor quality and the stock speakers are not much better. I found that decent speaker cable (about £2/m) and some £40-50 front door speakers made a huge difference.

What head unit did you buy to replace the original?
