Default How deep speakers can I get in a Furby?

I'm looking at either Focal Polyglass 165 V2 or V Slims.

The V2's are 72mm deep, and the V Slims are 60mm deep. Could i fit the V2s, or would I have to opt for the V Slims?

Cheers in anticipation!

The max mounting depth is about 65mm with MDF mounting rings. So the V2s would probably be pushing it. The problem is that the window runner is directly behind the centre of the speaker and gets in the way, but if you make the MDF spacer rings too thick, the door card won't fit back on. I think the V slims would be the wisest choice here

PS I've got Alpine type R components in mine and they sound great. If you're going to amp them up, and TBH, even if you're not, sound-deaden the doors while you have them in pieces

I thought this might be the case. The whole car certainly will be soundproofed - by Noisekiller.

I haven't actually heard the V Slims, but the V2's sound awesome, really nice sound. The V Slims are a little more expensive at £265 too. Ah well!

Also, I think the only way to get soundproofing into the door will be through the speaker hole. can't be bothered to drill out and replace umpteen rivets...

You'd be surprised how effective it is just to soundproof the inner door skin. I couldn't get much on the outer skin but I got a lot on the inner skin and it's much quieter. Another often overlooked place is the footwell on both sides - reduces road noise and diesel clatter. And of course I've got a ton on if all around the boot area - my sub is for me to listen to, not for the benefit of thieving toerags to have another shot at...
