Default MK1V golf cd changer - OCTY VRS

I have a Panasonic 8 disc changer & cable from my MK4 golf , When I looked at the connector that is in the OCTY it is different , Question will the golf cable fit into the Skoda HU or will I have to buy another changer

should be the same fitment iirc.

The same Golf changer is used in the Octavia and Leon

The changer that I have worked with the golf HU but it is an * disc rather than the 6 disc although it is a standard vw cable it's different to the VRS

The octy one is one 6 discs - not sure it's a panasonic either, but may be wrong

Sorry my mistake didnt read the 8 disc part.

But yes the 6 disc changer for the Octy is made by Panasonic.

So will the standard head unit work with an aftermarket Panasonic head unit?

The ones Ive seen yes no adapters required, but not all Panasonic changers.

An old retailer I knew used to fit Panasonic changers as they were cheaper than the gen VAG ones.

I've seen adaptors in Halfrauds marked as for VW assume they'd work too if need be.

Shouldnt see why not, they have the same connection on the back of the head unit.
