| I've been given a radio cassette from a 1998 Octavia (volume control by up and down buttons, and there's a removable plate on the right side) as by 402 unit is dead. The backlight is staying on all the time, even with ignition key removed. Is this ok, or is this unit bost too? Not keen to leave myself with a flat battery in this weather. |

Maybe a difference in the wiring. You maybe need to swap the permanent live and switched live. Skodas have these reversed generally so either you have an early Skoda with standard wiring or an older radio with standard connections. That's my bet anyway.
