Default Pogo Alert V Talex Lite

Was planning on buying a Talex Lite over the next week or so, but after doing a bit of research a new contender the 'Pogo Alert' has come into the equation.
Even when google though, it seems there are as yet no reviews of this product. Has anyone on here got 1? If so, what do you think of it?
Cheers, Kev

The Talex is brilliant, but dont know about the Pogo thingy. The Talex is a great buy, but if you can afford it, get the full version because it comes with the download cable and free subscription to updates. The Lite does not

i looked at pogo as well, laser detectors become illegal soon so that put me off along with the price for the accesories and all the extra bits you need to put it into other vehicles.

The Talex one the extra bits are cheap and looking at it i reckon you get away with sticking it on a non slip mat if in other vechiles.

Stu on the Elite can you fold the screen away when you take it away from vehicles? also is their an update on the release date as i can't wait

Got a Talex Lite myself but I'm going to see how FoxyTag works out on my K800i. The only downside is that I also use the phone for sat nav with Nav4All (free software on phone + bluetooth GPS receiver) so can't run that and FoxyTag at the same time.

You can get talex tt for the tomtom mate if that is more up your street which is pretty cheap.

vrsprint- ive heard bad things in the past with snooper, even had a snooper detector years ago and couldnt pick up anything unless you were parked in front of a live gatso (laser detection impossible with it). The database also from what ive heard on the devices are meant to be poor, but not had one of these ones yet.

I'd choose the Talex unit before any of the others as the database in it is IMO the best on the market.

I've tested units from all major manufacturers and the only company which comes close on database accuracy and quality is Pogo (formerly Origin). The Pogo database lacks mobile camera locations and red light cameras.

Don't be put off by the low cost of the Talex devices (Talex Lite), they are exceptionally good. So much so I recently added the Talex database to my TomTom One XL

Snooper has to be the most lacking database.

Best to worst:

1. Talex
2. Pogo (Origin)
3. RoadPilot
4. Road Angel
5. Snooper

oh, this reminds me I really must get a subscription for my Talex Lite, it still alerts me to the non-existent fixed camera within the SPECS zone on the A14

Bare in mind the price of subscriptions, for the Talex Lite its only £60 for three years (including update cable), whereas some can be £50 a year. Not sure about the Pogo.

Bigw2069: think I paid £40 (new) for mine but it was a bit of a ebay bargain. Think retail is about £60-70

I managed to buy a Talex Lite from Somerfields last year when they were on offer for £29.99 A bargain.

I think Aldi sell them for £49.99

That is cheap, 1/2 the price of a speeding fine
